Updating a blog...

So by now I'm just assuming no one reads this cuz it's been over a year since updation....

Here I sit, a married woman. Life has changed so much. I'm doing wifey tasks like laundry (even though it is stinkier than when it was just mine), dishes (which sometimes i even enjoy on occasion now but sssh don't tell him), kissing a husband off to work even at 7 am...life has changed. My movie collection has more than tripled and so has the amount of action and shoot em ups I own, I now have to pull the covers away from someone instead of someone pulling them away from me, and the chic shows that enthrall me so are few and far between, but life is good. I am a married woman.

Our pet pirahna, Glitter, is a bundle of joy. He just swims around all day staring and dodging his reflection. We haven't really given him much to do though. We need to buy more food. But he is beautiful in his shades of orange and gray, so sparkly... Sometimes we talk baby talk to him which might nauseate some people but I personally think he likes it. Swimming, swimming, swimming, all day long.

Our house looks homey, and now that the wedding pictures are starting to come in, we will have more decorations and more beauty all around us. We need more chairs at our kitchen table and eventually a bigger one because when we have guests we are scrounging or else we ask them to bring their own....not so host-like. Justin has perfected a mixed beverage in our new blender (Strawberry Daquiri mix -the non alcholic kind from the grocery store, ice, lime juice, real strawberries, and sometimes some soda water, and a dash of sugar) it is so delicious. We enjoy hosting people so if you are ever in the neighbor hood, don't hestitate, its still Surrey so that's not super inviting, but we will try to compensate for that.

Life is good!

I am now a Burnabian.

So it's been about a week since the big moving day. It wasn't a long process but it was quite drawn out. But the main thing is I know in my house and loving it. It is so nice and there is so much room and laundry is right there and i get my own room with a really comfy bed. So life is good. I also scored about 10 channels of cable, so that is fun except is only a hinderance to the whole unpacking process. Justin comes over to just chill cuz it is close to his work and we can watch tv and maybe soon movies together so that will be nice. I am close to a Save-on-Foods and there is also a really good bakery there so that's a plus. So yes overall its a great one.

This weekend I am planning on finishing up the unpacking but more importantly I am going to the drive-in movie for sure tonight. Fast and Furious is playing there so it will be fun becasue we are in our cars. Maybe we can do chinese food for supper or something. Yummy.

I am just working and schooling, besides what I have prev iously mentioned, so nothing too exciting. Me and Justin are great. I love hanging out with him still (we haven't drove each other bonkers yet) he's the best! :) Well, anywyas that's all thats new :) Until nxt time...

Spring is singing in the garden to the laughing daffodils

So I guess it's not technically spring but it's getting there. The weather here is turning from winter to spring slowly but surely. The rain has started with the gray skies and the occasional blue burst. As I drive/walk down the street I see the signs that life is beginning to form in the flower beds. It's so refreshing the see new growth and to finally have rain so it can wash the snow and the dirt of winter away for a fresh clean new beginning. All the grass is green, trees are starting to blossom, and the birds are feeling frisky (not in a bad way) because they can wash themselves in the newly formed puddles of rain... BEAUTY!

On a different note...tomorrow morning I get the brakes fixed on my car which is great so that i don't have to fear them not working and crashing into someone. And then in the evening i get to go for dinner with the Starbucks people. So I am excited about that, i wasn't going to go but then one of the girls asked if I was going and I said I don't know and then she's like yes you are, so yah i feel like i could go now. And then this weekend I get to work at La Vie En Rose. I don't liek working weekends but I like it there, so it's good I haven't seen them in a long time and I might get to work with Farren, my favorite! :)

School is going well. We are nearing the end. We have alot of hands on tests in the next while, but it's ok, cuz the one thing that I was having really lots of trouble on and was really worried about i got the hang of the other day. We worked on it all day and then that night I had a dream about it and how to do it easier and then the next day I tried it that way and it was so much easier and did almost perfectly yesterday...so it's cool I am excited, and I hope I do well. I stil haven't found a place to do my work experience, but a spa with a salon is advertising at the school so I think iw ill co ntact them and see if I can work there.

I am getting excited/stressed because I am moving next weekend. It is good news, but I have so much to pack up and clean. And we all know that is not my forte. But it's no tlike I can over pack because I can only take what in the house...minus the fridge and the kitchen sink....

Anyways this is all that's new in the life of me :)

Will it never end?

Wow, so December 6th was the last time I wrote....wow. Alot has happened since then. I guess i won't write on everything, but I have been so busy since then and my computer hasn't been working.
So, I am keeping very busy. I usually work at Starbucks about 3-4 times a week and then after that I go straight to school for 4 hours, then i drive home and go to bed. I am loving starbucks, i caught on pretty quick so its good. Practicing a little more making drinks would be good so i am not so overwhelmed when i get a string of cups lined up but i have mostly been working on till so I am really good at that now. And then school is great. We are learning so much about color, perms, updos, cuts, and now we have started taking clients so I have cut a couple peoples hair. It is fun but scary at the same time, I think all my people left happy though, sso that's a good thing. And I am loving school. I think i would love it alot more if I ddin't have to work cuz i wouldn't be so tired all the time, but i guess i got to pay rent, so i shouldn't complain. I should feel blessed to even have a job.

But the last 2 weeks have really sucked because I have been sick. It started off with achiness and fever and chills and then it kind of went away, but starting this last wednesday my throat has been really scratchy and then thursday i couldn't swallow it was so paintful and it has been like that ever since....so I keep meaning to go to a health clinic but yesterday i slept all day and today I had church and they aren't open. So I am taking the morning off work tomorrow and i am going. I think i might have strepthroat but it might be some other kind of virus. I didn't have any fever with the throat until yesterday so i don't know....So prayer that that will heal quickly and i can regain energy to do work and school.

Yesterday for Valentine's Day I slept all day and then I woke up around 5:30pm, got dressed up, did my hair, and Justin took me out to this Italian restaurant in White Rock (right along the beach) and it was really good. After dinner he took me home and walked me to my door like a gentleman and then i went to bed...it sucks being sick, i couldn't even stay out late with him :( But dinner was very good and it was nice of him and romantic.Things with us are going pretty good right now. In a couple weeks our good friends Drew and Lynn who we do everything with are moving to Princeton, BC where he got offered a pastoring job. So it will be sad to see them leave as me and Justin won't know what to do with ourselves, but there is a time to make new friends. And Drew is like a brother to Justin so that will make things hard too. Anywyas that's what's been going on here in BC the last little while. i will update as soon as I can. I am focuzing on getting better and then getting my computer fixed.

much love,
Leia

Shave and a hair cut, two bits...

So december 1st has come around and so I have "started the first day of my career". And I love it. My teachers are so great, they are pretty funny and very talented. I have about 4 teachers 3 guys and 1 girl. So far I have learned 3 hair cuts and 2ish styles. I an't wait to go back next week and learn more. My school is located in the middle of historic Gastown in Vancouver. It is so pretty al around it. And yesterday on our break we were walkig aroun the school a bitand there were model with thei makeup artist and they had full body paint on. It was a little awkward tosee, but it was cool cuz they were amazing pictures of basically whatever ou could imagine. There are so many talented students at the school. I have also made some friends with the girls I amg oing there with. Everyone is pretty quiet so it has taken a while for us all to branch out a bit, but you know, it's only the first week. I feel like such a poser out there cuz I'm like this girl from a small town in the big city now and have to dress up to go to school and whatnot, it's just weird. But yes, I LOVE the school. I even get to keep 2 mannequin heads at home that I can work on in my spare time.

I go back to work today for the first time in over a week. I am excited, i've been having dreams about it. haha. But it shoudl be good. And then on Monday i start work at Starbucks for a little money so that I can continue to pay my rent. haha. So I am littl enervous about that, but the people that I have met from there seem prety nice, so it should be good. I am very excited to come home for Christmas. It is going tobe a short visit,b ut I am very excited. I have been thinking about it alot lately and I had a dream about people form home for the first time I think since I';ve been out here, so that got me more excited.

Well, there are alot of funt hings going on in Vancouver in the month of December so I am hoping to hit some of those up before I come home. The festival of Lights or whatever its called is coming soon if not already here and there's this thing in Stanley Park so I have get my butt in gear and go check some of these things out. Anyways I shoudl start getting ready for work. Until next time. Be safe and have fun.

Grandview Corners

I just can't seem to escape Stettler. All weekend long I was working at the new location for La Vie En Rose in South Surrey. It is located in an area called Grandview Corners! It was a really long weekend but yesterday was our Grand Opening and we did pretty good, so it is exciting. Our store is big and we carry discount stuff but then also nice stuff from the boutique. So it's a win win! I love working with the girls there they are so nice and fun and I actually get excited to go to work everyday! Whenw e told the people in the mall location where we were opening another store the other shop owners were jealous cuz we are in south surrey and that's where all the wealthy people live, so they come in and spend more! IT's so great! But in the complex it is kinda like an outlet mall idea mixed with a strip mall idea. It is nice and cozy, just looks like a little neighborhood. And across the street there is a monsterous Walmart Super Centre! Massive. So yah i like working there.

Last night I went to my friend Brianna's birthday party so that was fun, but short. But one of her guy friends that we hang out with was there and he has one of those quick senses of humor so i laugh pretty hard at him. Afterwards we made plans to hang out sothat will be fun, i like hanging out with him, but it's kinda awkward when bri's not there just cuz she's our connection. On Wednesday I get to hang out with Amy so I am so stoked about that. We never have the same days off so I don't get tos ee her very often. But she only works til 2 and i have the day off so I will just meet up with her then. Other than that, not much new here.

working=messy house

So it's been a while...I have gotten a job, just in case you didn't know. I got a job at La Vie En Rose, it is a lingerie store. I love it! It is so much fun and the girls that I work with are alot of fun too. Most of them are East Indian but they are so hilarious. None of them have the accent though. haha. My boss at the new store's name is Aruna and my manager is Tracey. Tracey reminds me of my old singing teacher Rhonda and I love her. This coming weekend I have a bunch of 12 hour shifts because we are moving into the outlet store that is just being finished in south surrey. So it is goign to be closer to my house and whatnot. And it is an outlet so it is cheaper, we are carrying a guys line, and then we will also have stuff from the boutique. So it is going to be a lot busier too. I am getting full time hours right now so it is reallyh good!

I went to Victoria this last weekend for a day to see my parents. It is was nice, i had fun. Dad, brianne, and I went for a carriage ride and that was really nice. I want to now take mine and Justin's friends Drew and Lynn (who are married) to Victoria and go on the romantic ride. I mentioned it to them and Lynn is totally game but Drew is being more realistic i guess. So yah....In Vic we wen tout for Seafood and that was really good. And then on Saturday i worked and Sunday I hung out with Justin and Lynn because Drew was gone for the weekend. It was alot of fun. Saturday night after work me, lynn, and Katy had a girls night and made brownies and had them warm with ice cream...it was GLORIOUS!

My friend Becca is here form Alberta this week, so that is cool. I am excigted to see her. But that's abotu all thats happening. Thursday of this week i have off and i think it's pretty busy i get to go to chapel, we have our Life group reunion dinner, and then I am going to the church to listen to this really good speaker and her husband. So it will be a good day! Anywyas, that's a wrap on me here...messy house, sore feet, but money in the bank! so it's all good.
